The tragic death of Amber Nicole Thurman, which was first reported on by ProPublica, is being twisted by the media and pro-abortion activists to falsely attack pro-life laws. Here is the story: Amber Thurman lived in Georgia, and unfortunately, at nine weeks pregnant decided to travel to the neighboring state of North Carolina to obtain an abortion.
The abortionist’s office then provided her with the two-pill chemical abortion cocktail of mifepristone and misoprostol before sending her back to Georgia. After taking the abortion pill, which is known to cause a wide range of serious health issues for women, Thurman developed grave health issues as she had an incomplete abortion which led to her developing an infection.
Thurman then checked into Piedmont Henry Hospital to receive a dilation-and-curettage (D and C) procedure to remove the fetal remains, which is a legal procedure under pro-life laws in Georgia as the removal of the fetal remains are from an already deceased unborn baby. The D and C procedure is illegal in Georgia, however, if it is used to abort a living unborn baby in the womb.
Unfortunately, due to unknown delays in physicians providing the procedure for Thurman, she developed sepsis and died. Sadly, the media and pro-abortion activists, including Vice President Kamala Harris, have jumped on this story and twisted it to suggest that somehow the pro-life laws in Georgia are the cause of Thurman’s death.
The reality is that the tragic death of Amber Thurman is directly traceable back to the very dangerous chemical abortion pills. There are many documented dangers and complications for women who have a chemical abortion even from the FDA itself. It is absolutely upside down to suggest that pro-life laws are responsible for the death of Amber Thurman, as her death is clearly traceable back to the harm that the abortion pills caused to her body.

Father, give us strength, resolve, and perseverance to fight the good fight for the life You have created. Father, please use this very sad situation to open the eyes of abortion activists to the dangers of chemical abortion. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
