Let Us Pray

Called to Good Works

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10

The Christian life should not be one that is defined and characterized by complacency, apathy, or slothfulness. As those who have been saved by Christ Jesus, we have been called to do much more than just sit on the sidelines while the world is actively on the field.

Believers in Christ are called by God to be actively involved in doing good works in the culture in which they live. Paul in his letter to the church at Ephesus wrote that we are, “created in Christ Jesus to do good works.”

In Christ, we have been created and commissioned to courageously perform God-honoring works in obedience. Throughout the centuries, one can see the power of Christians rising up to do good works and how those acts of obedience brought about great change in the world.

Let us wholeheartedly, without reservation, fulfill our divine command to do good in this world. May we perform God-honoring works in obedience that will bring about great change in Kentucky and America.

LET US PRAY…

Father, empower us to fulfill our calling to do good works in obedience to You. Lord, may we actively work to do good by loving our neighbor, promoting God-honoring legislation, standing for Your truth in our culture, and more. Father, may our lives truly bring You glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
