In 2021, the Arkansas state legislature overwhelmingly passed the “Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act” (SAFE Act). With the passage of this historic legislative measure, Arkansas became the first state in the nation to pass legislation that protects vulnerable and confused children from life-altering experimental transgender “transition” procedures.
The banned “transition” procedures include puberty blockers, cross-sex hormone therapy, and surgical mutilation. Although the SAFE Act was duly passed by the Arkansas legislature, recently, on June 20th, Judge James M. Moody Jr., a U.S. federal judge, issued an 80-page ruling that struck down the law.
Judge Moody ruled that the law was unconstitutional because it infringed on physicians’ rights to provide medical care and discriminated against those who identify as transgender. Judge Moody wrote, “The evidence showed that the prohibited medical care improves the mental health and well-being of patients and that, by prohibiting it, the state undermined the interests it claims to be advancing.”
It is clear that Judge Moody has decided in his ruling to be a transgender activist instead of an unbiased judge. He repeatedly in his ruling essentially said that there is medical consensus that “transition” procedures are good and legitimate medical methods.
The reality is “transition” procedures are anything but settled methods in medicine. In fact, this is why in European countries there is a retreat taking place where these countries are backing away greatly from “transition” procedures on children as they are witnessing the harm it is causing them. Here is the bottom line, Judge Moody in this decision revealed his true colors, his decision was never based on established medical science it was based on his desire to be an activist for the transgender worldview.

Father, we pray that Judge Moody’s ruling will be successfully appealed and that the SAFE Act will be law in Arkansas quickly so that vulnerable children are protected. Lord, help judges across this nation to faithfully fulfill their duties and not simply be activists. Father, help children who are struggling with their biological makeup across our nation realize that You have created them perfectly and that You have a wonderful plan for them.
