“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.” – Proverbs 29:2
On Tuesday, during the presidential primaries that evening, both, former President Donald Trump, and President Biden officially became their respective parties’ presidential nominees. This sets up a 2020 re-match between the two, which is the first re-match for the White House since 1956 when Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower defeated former Democratic Gov. of Illinois Adlai Stevenson when they faced off a second time.
Furthermore, this re-match is the first since 1912 to feature two United States Presidents. After an avalanche of victories on Super Tuesday, Trump secured the Republican nomination Tuesday evening with key wins in the state primaries of Georgia, Mississippi, and Washington.
President Biden clinched the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday as well with decisive victories. Now that the stage for this election rematch has been set, it is clear that this will be an intense and grueling campaign season.
It is an understatement to claim that the job of being the President of the United States carries a heavy burden, being the leader of the free world is one of the hardest job on earth. With the shape our world is currently in and the position our nation is in, Americans must seek God’s wisdom in choosing our next leader.
LET US PRAY…
Father, may Americans earnestly seek Your guidance and wisdom as they choose our next President. Lord, help our nation to understand that when the righteous rule the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule the people groan. Father, may we have a leader that will look to You for wisdom and understanding. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
