“Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” – Genesis 2:7
The former National Football League (NFL) stand out, defensive end, Kenyon Coleman, in a recent interview with Live Action revealed that he was deeply pro-life. In the interview, it became apparent that Coleman was not only a big hitter on the football field, but that he also was a hard hitter in his defense of human life.
Coleman made it clear that many in our culture today has tried to desensitize people to abortion making it nothing more than a simple medical procedure. This is exactly what abortion advocates do, they disregard real medical science and Bible truth and tout abortion as good, normal, and rational medical treatments for women.
Beyond rejecting abortion because of the obvious termination of life that God has created, Coleman cited another reason for standing against abortion, his own experience. Coleman spoke of an instance in college when his girlfriend became pregnant, and he supported the abortion of that child.
In the interview, Coleman detailed the awful aftermath of the abortion. He stated, the “experience of getting an abortion — the psychological effect, the mental effect, the emotional effect it had towards me — caused collateral damage.” Coleman is highlighting something the abortion industry desperately is trying to hide and that is the severe damage it causes those who have or support an abortion.
In reality, abortion is causing much more damage than just the very serious sin of innocent life being murdered. Although all sin can be forgiven through the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, the temporal damage of sin remains, including that of psychological and emotional damage of a parent or parents following an abortion. The abortion industry has wreaked havoc upon America for too long, it must stop!
LET US PRAY . . .
Father, thank You, for the courage of Kenyon Coleman, as he tells our culture about the serious and damaging consequences of abortion. Father, please raise up many more influential leaders who are willing to protect the innocent lives You create. Father, may we become “hard hitters” in this battle to see abortion extinguished in America. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
