“And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.’” – Mark 8:34
Many aspects of American Christianity could be summoned up as timid, passive, and more. Believers throughout our nation view living for Christ as just a part of their life that is only publicly shown in places of comfort like church gatherings and worship services.
The Scriptures, however, command us to not only live for Christ in some parts of our lives but to live for Him in every facet of our lives. The Bible directs us to love the Lord with all of our heart and with all of our soul and with all of our might (Deuteronomy 6:5) which then strengthens us to live a life that is all-in for Jesus.
Living all-in for Jesus is not always easy and should not be considered as so. Christ, Himself, taught us that when we are all-in for Him it means to “deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him.”
As we enter the last month of the 2025 KY legislative session, let us commit to being all-in for Jesus and publicly standing strong for His truth in our Commonwealth as very important pro-family bills hang in the balance. In every facet of our lives, let us be people who choose to always be all-in for Jesus no matter what, as joy and eternal rewards await those who are unrelentingly faithful to Him.
LET US PRAY…
Father, empower us to fulfill our Biblical command to be all-in for You in every facet and aspect of our lives. Lord, may we joyfully deny “ourselves, take up our cross, and follow You.” Father, may we always keep our focus on You and the eternal rewards that await those who remain faithful to You throughout life. Lord, help us to finish strong for Your truth in this legislative session. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Every “Let Us Pray” devotional throughout this year’s legislative session will have the names of those in authority here in Kentucky so that we may fulfill our God-given command to pray for our governing leaders.
