“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Cor. 15:57
Thanks be to God; the 2023 Kentucky General Assembly delivered a big victory for families in the Commonwealth. This win comes in the form of Senate Bill 150 which recently passed the Kentucky House with a vote of 75-22 and the Kentucky Senate with a vote of 30-7.
Senate Bill 150 in its final form provides many needed and important protections for Kentucky parents and children. This key bill includes strong protections for parental rights, safeguards children by prohibiting age-inappropriate promotion of sexual orientation & gender identity topics, protects student privacy in intimate facilities, and protects kids from permanent harm of “gender transition” interventions.
This massive victory would not have been possible without the courageous stand for truth by the legislators who worked so diligently to advance this measure forward to final passage. Praise be to God for these elected officials who were willing to endure much in order to advance God-honoring legislation here in Kentucky.
As it stands now, the 2023 legislative session is in the veto period, this is the time when the Governor can either sign bills into law or veto them. Gov. Beshear needs to immediately sign Senate Bill 150 into law as it is a straightforward, broadly supported, and commonsensical bill that protects parents and children here in the Commonwealth.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we praise You that the KY General Assembly passed Senate Bill 150 which will provide much-needed protections for parents and children. Lord, thank You for the courageous legislators that worked so hard to pass this measure. Father, please give Gov. Beshear the needed conviction and understanding to sign this bill into law. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
