Let Us Pray

Celebrating Religious Freedom (January 18, 2022)

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” – 2 Corinthians 3:17

This past Sunday, January 16, 2022, was National Religious Freedom Day where Americans celebrated and observed our unique and crucial freedom of religious liberty. Our right to religious liberty is held in high regard in America and throughout the life of our country as it is our First freedom.

Religious freedom was the foundational constitutional right recognized by our Founders, as essential for a free society so that all may have the ability to believe, assemble, worship, and act in accordance with their faith. We must continue to ensure that our nation understands and upholds the reality that religious liberty is an inherent human right.

As believers in America, we are blessed beyond measure to be able to publicly live out our faith, tell others about the saving power of Christ, and assemble with other believers without fear of government intrusion or persecution. Both in private and in public we are free to live out our convictions about God and the Scripture all because of our right to religious liberty.

May no threat to our religious freedom go unanswered, let us resolve in the recognition of National Religious Freedom Day this past Sunday to do all we can to protect this foundational and utmost precious freedom. Let us use this freedom to bring our religious convictions and beliefs to the public square to ensure that America and Kentucky are honoring to God.

House Concurrent Resolution 33 has been filed in the KY General Assembly and if it passes, Kentucky will officially recognize January 16th of each year as National Religious Freedom Day.

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, thank You for the freedom to worship You freely here in America. Help us to never take for granted the wonderful blessing of our religious freedom. Father, may we use this precious freedom to bring honor and glory to Your Name. Help us, Lord, to preserve this foundational freedom and may it endure. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
