Let Us Pray

Let Us Pray: Election Day

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” – Proverbs 14:34

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5th, is the much-anticipated 2024 General Election. This General Election is immensely important for our nation and for our Commonwealth as it will determine exceedingly serious matters.

On the ballot, Kentuckians will have an opportunity to cast a vote to give parents choices in educational opportunities for their children. A Yes vote on Amendment 2 will update the Kentucky Constitution to allow for more educational opportunities for families, students, and teachers.

Also on the ballot, Americans will cast their votes for the next Commander in Chief. The race for the Presidency of the United States between President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris could not be anymore significant as the contrast between the two candidates could not be any clearer.

As we cast our votes may we approach the ballot box with a Biblical framework in mind. As we think through our vote, let us keep the Biblical principle in mind that when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice, and when the wicked rule the people suffer (Proverbs 29:2). On election day tomorrow, let us rejoice on this day that the Lord has made, and may we make the most of it by casting votes for righteousness as righteousness exalts a nation (Proverbs 14:34).

LET US PRAY…

Father, we thank You that we live in a free country where we are able to elect our leaders and vote on issues that determine the direction of our nation. Lord, help us to never take the incredible blessing of being able to vote for our leaders for granted. Father, empower each and every American tomorrow to cast votes for righteousness so that America may be exalted. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
