“For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. ” – Romans 13:3-4
The results of Kentucky’s three special elections to fill vacancies in the General Assembly are in — all three seats are remaining in Republican hands.
In the 22nd Senate District, vacated by the death of Sen. Tom Buford, Republican Donald Douglass won.
In the 51st House District, vacated by the death of Rep. John “Bam” Carney, voters chose Republican Michael “Sarge” Pollock.
In the 89th House District, vacated by the resignation of Rep. Robert Goforth, Republican Timmy Truett was elected.
The Family Foundation looks forward to working with Sen. Douglass, Rep. Pollock, Rep. Truett, and the rest of Kentucky’s lawmakers as we advocate for God-honoring public policy that strengthens Kentucky’s families.
LET US PRAY . . .
Father, we lift up Kentucky’s newest lawmakers. May You be their source of wisdom, discernment, and commitment to serving the Commonwealth. May they fulfill their purpose as Your ministers, promoting good and punishing evil. Use these lawmakers to strengthen Kentucky’s families through God-honoring public policy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
