Let Us Pray: Federal Appeals Court Upholds Commonsense TN Law

“Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created.” – Genesis 5:2

The state of Tennessee has a commonsense law in place that requires one’s birth certificate to align with that person’s biological sex. The statute, however, has been targeted and legally challenged by four biological males who “identify” as females who want their birth certificates to reflect their “gender identity,” not their biological sex.

Thankfully, one week ago, in a 2-1 decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit upheld Tennessee’s commonsense law. The federal appeals court ruled that the law does not run afoul of the Constitution and does not violate the 14th Amendment.

This ruling should be celebrated as it is grounded in reality and truth, not in the fictional or imaginative land that is promoted by transgender ideology. This decision is a victory for truth, reality, and common sense.

Judge Jeffrey Sutton correctly stated, “Tennessee does not guarantee anyone a birth certificate matching gender identity, only a certificate that accurately records a historical fact: the sex of each newborn.” This ruling upholds the Biblical reality that each person is made in the image of God and is created either male or female, which is a fact that is not mutable.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for this correct ruling by the Sixth Circuit to uphold the Tennessee law that requires one’s birth certificate to align with that person’s biological sex. Lord, may we as a nation honor Your creation of humanity being that of either male or female. Father, may we be faithful advocates of Your good design. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
