Medical care should always be focused on the well-being and health of a patient. It is a simple fact that any medical procedure that causes more damage than good to a person’s health should not be performed and or considered health care.
All things pertaining to medical/health care should be directed at doing the least amount of harm possible to a patient and thus allowing for the greatest amount of flourishing for one’s health. For some time now transgender procedures have been masked as “healthcare,” but it is crystal clear that these treatments lead to much more harm than good and should not be considered medical care.
Thankfully, the Sunshine State will soon protect taxpayer dollars from footing the bill for these dangerous and harmful transgender procedures. On August 21, 2022, under a new law enforced by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, the Medicaid program in the state of Florida will no longer pay for “sex-change” procedures.
The “sex-change” procedures banned under Medicaid in Florida are puberty blockers, hormones and hormone antagonists, sex reassignment surgeries, and any other procedure that alters one’s primary sexual characteristics. Many more states need to follow these actions by Florida and protect confused individuals from permanently damaging the body God has given them.
LET US PRAY…
Father, thank You for this courageous action by Florida in promoting only healthcare that brings about flourishing for patients and not harm. Lord, may many more states follow this path and not pay for procedures that bring about lasting damage for patients masked in the name of “sex-change” procedures. Father, help each and every person who is deeply confused about their gender to realize You have created them in Your image and to be a temple for Your Spirit. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
