Recently, the Sunshine State just wrapped up its two-month legislative session that produced many good laws for Florida. Gov. Ron DeSantis was able to sign multiple important bills that will protect children, unborn babies, and public school teachers.
One of the notable bills was one that outlaws experimental “gender” transition procedures on minors which will provide much-needed protections for children who are confused and vulnerable. This bill carries with it a penalty of up to five years in prison for any physician who violates this law.
Another important bill passed by the Florida legislature is one that will provide protections for public school teachers. This bill will specifically protect public educators from having to call a student by any other pronoun than that which aligns with the student’s biological gender.
There were also bills passed to protect the innocence of children in Florida. One of the legislative measures prohibits businesses from putting on adult live performances, such as drag shows, in front of children.
The Florida legislature also passed the “Heartbeat Protection Act” which is a massive victory for the protection of human life and a great step forward in the pro-life effort. This measure prohibits abortion once the heartbeat of an unborn baby is detectable. Once a baby is determined to be six weeks or older, he or she, Praise God, is now protected from having their life terminated through abortion.

Father, we praise You for these righteous bills that have been passed by the Florida legislature and signed by Gov. DeSantis. Lord, may many more states pass laws like these that will protect children, unborn babies, and public school teachers. Father, may You be glorified in our efforts to advocate for God-honoring public policy here in the Commonwealth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
