Let Us Pray: Helene Brings Destruction

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” – Romans 15:13

Over the weekend, hurricane Helene hit the U.S. Southeast and what it brought was nothing short of great destruction. The deadly storm has claimed the lives of at least 160 people and has left more than 600 unaccounted for.

Helene first hit the Sunshine State where it battered the west coast of Florida with its powerful 140 mph wind speeds. Helene was a catastrophic category 4 storm that left a devastating path of destruction.

The mountain communities of western North Carolina were hit particularly hard by the storm. The storm caused deadly and devastating floods and landslides in that area which has left some towns completely isolated.

Across the Southeastern region of our nation, millions remain without power or cellular service. Many of those millions are also without food, water, and medical care.

There are times in life when the destruction and devastation that we see around us only feeds despair and pain. However, God is so good that He can supernaturally give us peace, strength, and hope in the darkest of circumstances. For the victims of Helene, let us pray that the Holy Spirit will fill them with supernatural hope, joy, and peace in the midst of the chaos they are experiencing.

LET US PRAY…

Father, please fill the victims of Helene with Your hope, joy, and peace as they start the rebuilding process. Lord, please comfort those who lost loved ones in this vicious storm. Father, may the millions without power, food, and water be helped quickly. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
