“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
House Bill 2, the Educational Freedom Constitutional Amendment was filed by Representative Suzanne Miles earlier in the legislative session. Praise be to God, this immensely important legislative measure was recently passed by the KY General Assembly.
This important piece of legislation makes clear that parents, more than anyone else, know what their children need educationally. This bill frees parents to make the best possible decisions and choose the best educational options for their children.
The Kentucky House first passed House Bill 2 with a vote of 66 – 31. Then, House Bill 2 was sent over to the Kentucky Senate where the bill passed with a vote of 27 – 8.
This bill rightly empowers parents with educational choices, and that is what allows the education process to operate best. The proposed amendment will now be put on the November ballot for voters in Kentucky to approve.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we are thankful that the Kentucky General Assembly passed House Bill 2. Lord, we pray that Kentuckians will favorably vote to approve this proposed amendment in November. Father, may parents be empowered here in Kentucky to make the best choices for the educational needs of their children. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
