Let Us Pray

“The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all… with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth….” – 2 Timothy 2:24-26

In May, the Louisville Metro Council voted 14-11 to enshrine a 10-foot “buffer zone” around the entrance of the city’s primary abortion mill.

The measure was enacted despite legal concerns about the violation of free speech and religious liberty rights.

Some individuals regularly gather outside the abortion mill to pray, offer mothers-in-crisis alternative options, and minister the best they can.

While a legal challenge to the “buffer zone” is ongoing, a federal judge has allowed it to go into effect for now. Bright yellow lines were painted, to mark the “buffer zone’s” boundaries, last week.

The Scripture is clear that life begins in the womb, is made in the Image of God, and should be protected in accordance with its inherent worth and value.

Scripture is also clear that we are to speak Truth in gentleness, being salt and light to a dark world.

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, we mourn the blatant disregard for preborn life in our nation. Convict us of our sin–give us eyes to see those lives as You see them. Give us the courage to stand up for Truth, speaking for the voiceless… and give us the strength and heart to do it in compassion. Open doors for those who speak with Truth and Grace, may Your grace and holiness be revealed to those who encounter them outside the abortion mill in Louisville. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
