The island of Maui is known for its beauty and is one of the most sought-after vacation destinations in the world. However, the large island in the state of Hawaii, specifically the town of Lahaina, now looks like a war zone, the likes of what some describe as Hiroshima.
Unfortunately, last week devastating wildfires violently tore through the Lahaina area and left utter devastation. Heartbreakingly, the wind-driven fires killed at least 106 people, and that number is expected to rise over the next few weeks.
Nearly every building in the town of Lahaina was burned to the ground and all the cell towers in the area have been destroyed. Lahaina has experienced a devastating loss of an estimated 5.6 billion dollars due to the destruction of the wildfires.
It is traumatically disturbing that many of the survivors were forced to run on foot from the fires ultimately plunging into the ocean for safety. May we truly lift up the people of Maui to Almighty God through prayer as many are dealing with the loss of loved ones, homes, and more.
LET US PRAY…
Father, may the people of Maui in a supernatural way feel the peace, comfort, and protection that only You can provide. Lord, thank You for being close to those who are brokenhearted and crushed in spirit. Father, empower the people of Maui to rebuild quickly and overcome the devastation that they have experienced. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
