Let Us Pray

Let Us Pray: Merry Christmas!

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:11

We are in the full swing of the Christmas season, and it is truly one of the most joyful, celebrated, cheerful, and merriest times of the year. Today is Christmas Eve, and tomorrow is Christmas Day, and these days will be full of wonderful things such as good food, quality family time, giving and receiving gifts, and much more.

With all of the lights, decorations, and festivities that are involved in this special Holiday it can be easy to lose focus of the true meaning of Christmas. Our chief focus, first and foremost, should be on the One whom CHRISTmas is centered around, the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, and His birth.

This Christmas, let us take time to center our attention on the wonderful truth that in Jesus, God “became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). God sent His Son, the Savior, through the virgin birth to this earth for a specific purpose and that was to deliver us from sin and to take care of our greatest need, the salvation of our soul.

Through the incarnation of Christ, as humanity, we received a “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).” Over 2,000 years ago God graciously gave humanity the greatest gift ever given!

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, thank You for this time of year where we are reminded of Your great and incomparable love which was shown to us through the birth of Your Son. Lord, during this Christmas time, may we truly adore and worship You and not become distracted by other things. Father, we praise You and worship You for giving us the greatest gift ever given, the birth of Your Son, our Savior. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
