One week ago, two major pharmacy chains, CVS and Walgreens, announced their intent to start selling the abortion drug, mifepristone. These neighborhood pharmacies will only be allowed to sell the abortion drug in states where it is allowed which means these pharmacies cannot sell mifepristone in Kentucky.
The impact of CVS and Walgreens’ decision cannot be underestimated. CVS is the largest pharmacy chain in the United States with over 9,000 stores throughout all 50 states. Walgreens isn’t far behind with 8,500 stores in nearly all states across the nation.
The cost of this decision will be great in light of the various states that will allow pharmacies to sell the abortion drug. It is nothing short of a gut-wrenching reality that at those pharmacies women will be harmed, and children will be killed.
What a paradox this story is. Think about it: the mission of a pharmacy is to provide medicines that enhance, heal, and restore the person in need. Now with this decision by these neighborhood pharmacies, CVS and Walgreens are turning their places of healing into places of destruction, demise, and death.

Father, we praise You that here in Kentucky, CVS and Walgreens, will not be allowed to sell the abortion drug. Lord, empower every state to pass legislative measures to outlaw the selling of mifepristone at local neighborhood pharmacies. Father, strengthen Your people to courageously stand for life throughout our nation until every human life is valued and protected. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
