Let Us Pray: Oklahoma to Place Bibles in Every Classroom

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” – 2 Timothy 3:16

Back in June of this year, Oklahoma’s State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Ryan Walters, directed all public school districts in the state to start teaching the importance of the Bible and the Ten Commandments. Walters sent a letter to every school district in the Sooner State ordering them to incorporate the Bible into the curriculum for fifth through twelfth grades.

Walters took this action so that Oklahoma students could learn about the history of our nation’s founding being inseparable from the Bible. With this move, Oklahoma students are not only learning about the Bible’s impact on the founding of our nation but they are also being taught the moral truth of the Scriptures, specifically the Ten Commandments, which are the highest standards of morality and how to live a fruitful life.

Walters’ bold leadership is not stopping at just incorporating the Bible into the curriculum in Oklahoma schools. Now he has announced plans to place Bibles in every classroom statewide. In a public statement, Walters said, “We know that history without an understanding of Biblical influence is dishonest to education. Oklahoma kids will have access and know that we are investing in their future. We are putting the Bible in every classroom!”

Think of the blessing it would be for America if students across our nation, not just in Oklahoma, who will end up being the next generation of lawyers, teachers, bankers, physicians, and more were taught the tenets of the Bible. Such a move allows for a much more well-rounded education. May the bold leadership of Superintendent Walters become infectious to all other states in our nation and may they follow in his actions.

LET US PRAY…

Father, thank You for the bold leadership of Superintendent Walters and for his desire to promote the teachings of the Bible in Oklahoma schools. Lord, we praise You that Word will now be present in every classroom in Oklahoma. Father, we pray that many more states will follow the lead of Oklahoma in this regard. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
