Let Us Pray: Physician Refuses to Publish Study on Puberty Blockers for Political Reasons

“For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.” – John 3:20

The New York Times has reported that Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy, a physician who is a leading transgender activist, conducted an intensive study on puberty blockers for adolescents who experienced gender dysphoria but ended up keeping the findings deliberately in the dark. Reportedly, the study was intentionally left unpublished for political reasons as the study revealed the horrific effects of puberty blockers on adolescents.

According to the report, in 2015, Dr. Olson-Kennedy and her team assembled “95 children from across the country and gave them puberty blockers, which stave off the permanent physical changes – like breasts or a deepening voice.” The U.S. National Institutes of Health gave a government grant of $9.7 million to fund the project.

The Times reported that the study found that transgender interventions had negative effects on adolescents and that it stated, “Puberty blockers did not lead to mental health improvements.” Dr. Olson-Kennedy told the Times that she and her colleagues have not published the study because it “might fuel the kind of political attacks that have led to bans of the young gender treatments in more than 20 states.”

In other words, for transgender activists like Dr. Olson-Kennedy, the real scientific evidence of the horrific outcomes of transgender interventions on adolescents must be hidden because if they are made public it will be a stumbling block for the transgender agenda. This is yet just another incident that reveals the truth that so-called “gender-affirming care” has never been based on real scientific medicine and has always been built on a false ideology.

LET US PRAY…

Father, may the darkness within the transgender movement continue to be exposed by the light. Lord, may the scientific truth about the horrific outcomes of transgender interventions on adolescents continue to be brought forth. Father, empower us to stand for Your truth and unapologetically advocate for Your created order. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
