“And I charged your judges at that time, ‘Hear the cases between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the alien who is with him.’” – Deuteronomy 1:16
Earlier this month, the United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the immensely important case of Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. The center of this case is whether taxpayer money should be used to fund Planned Parenthood and subsidize abortion.
This case challenges a correct and right South Carolina policy that specifically prevents Medicaid funds from going to abortion industries such as Planned Parenthood. This policy goes back to 2018 when South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster declared that Medicaid funds must be totally halted from going to any organization that performs abortions.
Planned Parenthood is arguing that individuals who have Medicaid should be able to use those funds to access the “health care” options that they provide. Any objective person, however, knows how false that statement is, as Planned Parenthood from its inception has had a singular focus on abortion and has hidden that mission under the guise of so-called “health care.”
Gov. McMaster correctly stated, “The payment of taxpayer funds to abortion clinics, for any purpose, results in the subsidy of abortion and the denial of the right to life.” Whether it be in South Carolina or in any other state, no taxpayer should be forced to fund the evil and egregious termination of human life through abortion.
There is much at stake in this case as the Supreme Court has a chance to rule definitively that Medicaid funds cannot be used at Planned Parenthood in South Carolina. This decision by the Supreme Court will likely have wide-ranging implications that will cause ripple effects far beyond South Carolina.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we praise You for this righteous policy that Gov. McMaster has implemented in South Carolina to keep taxpayer funds from going to abortion organizations. Lord, please protect our taxpayer money here in America from going to fund evil, immoral, and vile organizations that perform abortions. Father, empower the Supreme Court Judges to rule rightly in this case. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
