Recently, Kentucky state senator, Johnnie Turner, R-Harlan, was seriously injured when a lawn mower that he was on dove into an empty swimming pool. Sen. Turner is currently at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville where he is being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Although Sen. Turner is in critical condition, he remains stable. According to a spokesman for the Republican majority, he has made some good progress as he is now able to sit upright and communicate.
Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers said that Sen. Turner’s family has asked for prayers for a “speedy recovery.” Sen. Turner is currently in a reelection campaign against an independent candidate in the November election.
Sen. Turner is an attorney, and as a state senator, he represents the eastern Kentucky counties of Bell, Floyd, Harlan, Knott, and Letcher. He was elected to the Kentucky state senate in 2020.

Father, we thank You for the good progress that Sen. Turner is making in his recovery from the serious accident that took place. Lord, we pray that You will grant him a full and speedy recovery. Father, please give the physicians who are caring for Sen. Turner Your wisdom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
