“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” – James 5:16
Any observant person can conclude the reality that our nation is in a very concerning, challenging, and unsettling position at the moment. Right now, in America, we are witnessing intense political divides, debates over objective truth, rampant moral chaos, and more.
Due to the disarray and disorder in our nation, we are witnessing some American believers choose a path of apathy and passivity to deal with the troubling direction that we are heading in. Thankfully, as believers in Christ, we do not have to live in a perpetual state of discouragement as if we are simply doomed.
Out of the many actions that the Bible calls us to perform in order to influence our culture for Christ, our most powerful tool, the most powerful action we can take is prayer, which is too often neglected. Believers in Christ have a direct line to Almighty God who is infinitely able to answer any request that we bring before Him.
Even in the midst of intense national turmoil, as believers, we can be filled with hope knowing that God hears our prayers to heal our nation and that He can change the direction our nation is taking in a moment. Let us fervently, whole-heartedly, and passionately pray for our nation as we confidently rest in the assurance that the “prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).
LET US PRAY…
Father, please heal our nation that is seemingly filled with strife, conflict, and confusion. Lord, empower each and every one of our governing leaders to lead in such a way that brings You honor and glory. Father, help us to always see prayer as the first response to every situation we face in life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
