Let Us Pray

Let Us Pray: President Trump Signs Executive Order to Reestablish Sanity on First Day

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” – Genesis 1:27

During President Trump’s inaugural address, one of the most resounding applauses from the audience in the Capitol Rotunda came when he declared a policy to reestablish sanity and commonsense in the federal government. President Trump boldly stated, “As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female.”

President Trump signed an executive order later on Inauguration Day which was titled, “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.” Verbiage from President Trump’s inaugural speech mirrors that which is found in the executive order.

The executive order states, “It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female. These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality. … ‘Sex’ shall refer to an individual’s immutable biological classification as either male or female. ‘Sex’ is not a synonym for and does not include the concept of ‘gender identity.’”

This immensely important executive order will ensure that federal agencies enforce laws governing sex-based rights, protections, opportunities, and accommodations. This order also prohibits federal funds from being used to promote gender ideology.

This commonsense order by President Trump returns our federal government back to the Biblical truth of God’s created order found in Genesis one, that God has created humanity in His image, either male or female. All Americans should be thankful for this order as the blessings of God are on nations that align their governing principles in accordance with His truth.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for the courage and boldness of President Trump signing this important executive order on day one. Lord, may every level of government in our nation honor, respect, and align itself with Your truth. Father, please continue to guide President Trump in Your wisdom as he leads our nation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Every “Let Us Pray” devotional throughout this year’s legislative session will have the names of those in authority here in Kentucky so that we may fulfill our God-given command to pray for our governing leaders.
