Let Us Pray

Let Us Pray: Puberty Blockers Indefinitely Banned in the U.K.

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.” – Psalm 37:3

In March of 2023, the British government put a temporary halt on puberty blockers from being used on minors as a gender transition procedure. This nonpermanent ban was put into effect because of the Cass Review, which preceded the ban, where British medical professionals noted the extremely “weak evidence” surrounding “gender-affirming medicine.”

A couple of days ago, new legislation was announced by the Labour government that would change the temporary ban to an infinite ban on puberty blockers for minors in the U.K. The new legislation, once it goes into effect, would completely and entirely stop British minors from being able to access puberty blockers.

The ban would also be in effect in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. These European countries welcomed and accepted gender transition procedures for minors much earlier than the U.S., and are now pumping the brakes on the procedures sooner than the U.S.

This should be encouraging to Americans, as hopefully, this is where the United States is headed as well. As the U.S. Supreme Court considers the case of U.S. v. Skrmett let us pray that the justices will recognize what the U.K. government has, and that is that gender transition procedures are built on a faulty ideology that harms minors and not on sound medical science that brings healing.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You that confused and vulnerable minors in the United Kingdom, once this new legislation is in place, will be protected from the devastation of puberty blockers. Lord, empower all in the medical community to promote only real medicine that heals and helps and not false ideologies. Father, please help each and every member of the U.S. Supreme Court to rule righteously in the case of United States v. Skrmetti. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
