Let Us Pray

Representing Christ (February 16, 2022)

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”
– 2 Cor. 5:20

Our culture in America is growing increasingly dark, as things such as marriage, life, gender, and religious freedom continue to be devalued and attacked at large. Some Christians have decided that America is too far removed now from Biblical values and have decided to hunker down and not engage the culture for Christ and his truth.

This, however, is not an option for the believer. According to the Apostle Paul, we are called to be Christ’s “ambassadors.” This means we are specifically called by our Lord to represent Him, His interests, and His righteousness to those around us.

The believer’s citizenship is ultimately in heaven, as it is our real home. However, we have been placed in this foreign land, the United States, and specifically in Kentucky, to represent our King, Jesus Christ, and His truth to our world.

As believers in Christ, we are called to engage our culture with courage and truth for our King. We are never called to shrink back and be silent as our state and nation continue to drown in sin. Are you representing Christ and His truth to those Christ has allowed You to have an influence on?

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, thank You, for the privilege to be able to represent You and Your truth here in Kentucky and America. Lord, may we be filled with courage and strength as we set out to influence our world for You. May our representation of Your truth, Lord, change our state to adhere to the truth of Your Word. Lord, help us to never cower in fear, but always be willing to stand strong for You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
