“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5
The Hoosier state has become the first state in the nation to nearly ban all abortions since the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The Indiana legislature passed an extensive bill that restricts abortion greatly on Friday, and the bill was then quickly signed into law by Governor Eric Holcomb that very night.
This newly signed pro-life law will go into effect on September 15th and become the law of the land in Indiana. There are a few exceptions in this bill that allows for abortion procedures to be performed such as saving the life of the mother, rape, and incest.
Furthermore, the bill ensures the closure of the state’s abortion mills and makes clear if an abortion procedure is needed due to the limited circumstances already discussed, that it must be performed in a hospital. Under this abortion ban, abortionists in Indiana who illegally perform abortion procedures will not only face the loss of their medical license but will also be charged with a felony for killing a baby and face a one to six-year prison sentence.
Praise be to God that the state of Indiana is putting forth strenuous measures to ensure that human life is protected. May this be just the beginning in a long line of states following suit to protect human life all across our nation.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we praise You for this extensive pro-life bill that has been signed into law in Indiana. Lord, thank You for the many babies that will be allowed to live their lives because of this law protecting them from being murdered through abortion. Father, we pray that many more states will follow Indiana by passing measures to protect human life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
