“Abstain from every form of evil.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:22
Across our nation, there is an earnest effort by some who are doing all they can to legalize the use of marijuana. This push to legalize marijuana is seen in two forms, the desire to legalize recreational marijuana use and to legalize medicinal marijuana use.
The push to legalize marijuana is being advocated for by some of the most prominent leaders in our nation and state. In fact, both the Biden Administration and the Beshear Administration are taking steps to promote the use of marijuana.
Recently, President Biden took action to overhaul federal policy on marijuana by pardoning thousands of individuals for marijuana possession. Furthermore, the President has gone on to say that state Governors need to follow his lead and do the same thing by pardoning those in their states who have broken the law by possessing marijuana.
Days ago, Gov. Beshear said that his Team Kentucky Medical Cannabis Advisory Committee found that an overwhelming number of Kentuckians support legalizing medical marijuana. According to Gov. Beshear’s Administration, their polling suggests that 90% of Kentucky adults support legalizing medical cannabis.
It is a proven fact, medically, that marijuana use is dangerous which has been documented by organizations like the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The Biden and Beshear Administrations should use much more caution than they have when dealing with the issue of legalizing marijuana.
LET US PRAY…
Father, help us to only promote and advocate for issues that bring glory and honor to You. Lord, help Kentuckians and Americans at large to understand the real dangers that accompany marijuana use. Father, help us to be people who “abstain from every form of evil.” In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
