Let Us Pray: The Responsibility to Engage

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” – 2 Corinthians 5:20

As believers in the Lord, one of the ways the Apostle Paul defines us is as ambassadors for Christ. The term “ambassador” refers to an official representative on the behalf of a country or leader to a foreign country.

The believer’s citizenship is ultimately in heaven, as it is our real home. However, we have been placed in the United States, and specifically in Kentucky, to represent our King, Jesus Christ, and His truth to our culture.

As believers living in in America, we are tremendously blessed by having the privilege to represent our Lord freely by entering the voting booth and voting for candidates and legislative measures that align with His truth. We can greatly influence our state and nation by simply representing Christ in the voting booth.

In order to faithfully represent Christ in the voting booth, one must actually cast their votes. Unfortunately, there are 25 million American Christians who do not vote consistently. That is one out of every three American believers who do not engage in the election process.

On November 5, 2024, Americans will cast their votes for the next President of the United States. Kentuckians, in addition, will also cast their votes for the immensely important Amendment 2, and more. Let us remember, as we cast these powerful votes, they should reflect the interests of the One we are representing, Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

LET US PRAY…

Father, empower us to be effective ambassadors for You so that we may transform our state and nation to be righteous in Your sight. Lord, thank You for the privilege of being able to vote and influence the direction of our nation. Father, may we cast each vote in a way that glorifies You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
