The Daily Caller recently led an investigation that looked into the University of Kentucky’s hospital system in regard to the transgender services they offer. The investigation revealed that the UK’s hospital system theoretically offered transgender services to a minor.
The Daily Caller reports that on March 31st, a staffer for the UK HealthCare Department of Family and Community Medicine at Circle told the undercover reporter that they would provide hormone therapy for a hypothetical minor who was “fifteen years old.” The undercover reporter then went on to ask what other transgender services the Circle provides, and the staffer stated, “Hormone therapy — we don’t do the surgeries, but we do have a facility that does surgery.”
The University of Kentucky’s hospital system in its offer to provide transgender services to a minor is in clear violation of state law. In 2023, the Kentucky Legislature passed Senate Bill 150, and this law protects Kentucky’s children from the devastating use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and transition surgeries.
One day after the staffer at the UK’s hospital system told the reporter that they provide hormone therapy for children, the University released a statement correcting the staffer saying that the University is in compliance with state law. Kristi Willett, the executive director of public relations for the University of Kentucky, told the Daily Caller that, “The University complies with State Law and President Trump’s Executive Order on Gender Affirming Care.”
This story reminds us that we must remain diligent in protecting our youth throughout Kentucky. The University of Kentucky’s HealthCare system must follow state law and in no way offer transgender procedures to minors.

Father, we praise You that Kentucky children are being protected from the devastating effects that accompany transgender procedures. Lord, we pray that the hospital system and all other Kentucky hospitals will follow state law in totality by not providing transgender services to minors. Father, help our state collectively in every avenue possible to honor You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
