“Not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” – Philippians 2:4
Today is Veterans Day, and on this federal holiday here in the United States we as Americans specifically use this day to show our respect to all who have served in our nation’s Armed Forces. In their extraordinary defense of the United States, Veterans since the birth of our nation have exemplified what true sacrifice, service, and courage truly are.
Veterans are revered in our nation because of the many admirable and honorable ways in which they have served the United States. Those who have served in our Armed Forces do so out of selflessness. They do not serve to fulfill their own selfish interest but rather serve to fulfill the interests of our great nation.
Without the dedication, faithfulness, sacrifice, and selflessness of our veterans, for generations, we would not be experiencing the enormous blessings we do today as Americans. For nearly 250 years, America, the beacon of freedom in the world, has been defended by our valiant veterans.
Our veterans have played an invaluable role in making the United States of America the greatest nation on the face of the earth. Set aside some time today to thank a veteran for the selfless service they have given to our nation.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we praise You for all of the Veterans who have served so selflessly to defend our great nation. Lord, thank You for the families of Veterans who have also sacrificed so much for our country, and we pray that You bless our Veterans and their families. Thank You, Lord, for those who are serving today, standing ready to defend and protect our freedom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
