Let Us Pray

Let Us Pray: We Need Healing in our Nation

“Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.” – 1 Peter 3:8

The political tension in our nation right now is palpable. The reality is that we are teetering as a country, we are so bitterly divided that it seems we are reaching a breaking point.

An outworking of the disunity in America right now was seen on Sunday in a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. President Trump was golfing at his West Palm Beach golf club in Florida when a would-be assassin was spotted in surrounding bushes where he had an AK-47 assault rifle.

Secret Service agents spotted the gunman who was just 400 to 500 yards away from the President and acted quickly by firing four to six rounds at the gunman before he was able to open fire. The individual then fled the scene. It is believed the would-be assassin had been camped out in the bushes that surround Trump International Golf Course for at least 12 hours waiting to get a clear shot at President Trump.

Shortly after the incident, the FBI declared it an “assassination attempt.” This is the second assassination attempt on President Trump in just a little over two months. There is nothing normal about assassination attempts on our leaders.

The cultural climate in America right now thoroughly reveals that we have a spiritual problem. The need for the Gospel in our country is paramount as only Christ can bring the healing we desperately need.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for providentially sparing President Trump’s life once more from this second attempted assassination. Lord, empower our nation as a collective whole to turn to You and embrace the Gospel for the healing that we so desperately need. Father, please bring unity, peace, and healing to our nation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
