“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:16
Multiple destructive wildfires have spread across the southern California region specifically ravaging the Los Angeles County area. Los Angeles fire fighters have valiantly and courageously battled the fires in an attempt to stop them from spreading but have found it to be a difficult task with the ferocious blaze-fanning winds fueling the fires.
The destruction of the wildfires cannot be overstated as more than 27,000 acres in the Los Angeles area has been burned to nothing but rubble. The Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Kenneth Fire, Hurst Fire and Lidia Fire are responsible for leaving the area as if it was carpet bombed in war.
Heartbreakingly, according to Los Angeles officials, more than 10,000 homes and businesses have been burned down to their foundations. The Los Angeles County coroner has stated that there have been at least 10 fire-related deaths.
Nearly 400,000 individuals state-wide are currently without power. Around 180,000 residents are under evacuation orders. It is being reported that this is one of the most devastating wildfires in American history.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we pray for a complete stop to these wildfires that are ravaging southern California. Lord, please strengthen the firefighters and first responders that are fighting the flames and helping people in danger. Father, please bring peace to those who have lost homes, businesses, and loved ones in these wildfires. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Every “Let Us Pray” devotional throughout this year’s legislative session will have the names of those in authority here in Kentucky so that we may fulfill our God-given command to pray for our governing leaders.
