Let Us Pray

Let Us Pray: Witnesses for Christ

“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!” – Psalm 96:3

The Bible teaches that there is a private aspect in our relationship with Almighty God. For example, our Lord, Jesus Christ, taught us to pray in secrecy to God by going into our room and shutting the door, which is a clear directive to spend time with God in prayer privately at times (Matthew 6:6).

However, the Bible equally teaches us that although we are commanded to spend time with God through prayer in private, we are also commanded to spend time publicly declaring the glory of God among the nations. The Scriptures teach us that we are to be bold, courageous, and public witnesses for Christ in our culture.

Just as we are to remain strong in Christ through our private personal relationship with Him in daily prayer and Scripture readings, we are also to be strong in the Lord as we declare His truth with resilience and love. To all people, we are to share the truth of God’s Word in hopes that they will commit their lives to Christ and follow His ways, so that they may experience the height of human flourishing.

Only by being a public and bold witness for Christ in our culture will we be able to expand His Kingdom and see our nation return to Him once more. Let us commit to not only being serious about the private aspects of our faith but also being serious about the public ones as well.

LET US PRAY…

Father, empower us to declare Your glory among the nations, and Your marvelous works among all people. Lord, strengthen us to be bold, public, resilient, strong, and winsome witnesses for You in our culture. Father, may we bring glory to You through our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
