Let Us Pray: WKU Must Stop Drag Shows

“A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.” – Deuteronomy 22:5

At the beginning of this month, Western Kentucky University’s (WKU) Housing and Residence Life held its annual WKU Drag Show. This show was the tenth in a row marking a full decade of WKU putting on a drag show for the university which took place on campus.

In attendance at the drag show were people of all ages, which sadly included those of young children who should never be exposed to such perversion. Programs such as these at public universities in Kentucky, specifically WKU in this situation, must cease and desist due to the final passage of House Bill 4 during this year’s Kentucky legislative session.

House Bill 4 requires all publicly funded universities, such as WKU, to stop using state funds for DEI programs. The law specifically bans and defunds discriminatory DEI programs in our public universities.

Logically, it follows that if WKU continues to promote and host craziness, such as drag shows, it should receive no more of Kentucky’s tax dollars as the university will be in direct violation of state law. Going forward, WKU must halt all DEI programs, which include drag shows.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for the passage of House Bill 4 during this year’s legislative session here in Kentucky. Lord, may all public universities in Kentucky come in compliance with state law that bans and defunds discriminatory DEI programs in our public universities. Father, help us to be faithful advocates for Your truth in our culture. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
