Many Kentucky cities have been hit hard by COVID-19, but none harder than Louisville. The city accounts for roughly one-third of all COVID-19 cases in Kentucky. However, Louisville has gained an additional “medical” service in the midst of crisis: abortion. At the approval of the Beshear administration, Planned Parenthood opened in January and began performing abortions during the last week of March.

In addition to Planned Parenthood performing non-essential procedures, they are competing against local hospitals for PPE. These actions are in direct contradiction to Governor Beshear’s executive order, yet they still continue to operate.

The nation’s largest abortion provider has even closed some of its health centers so it can redirect resources to performing abortion. Unfortunately, abortion has become a core value and “cash cow” for Planned Parenthood.

Lastly, this crisis has revealed that not even a global pandemic can remove abortion as a top priority in the Beshear administration.
