Let Us Pray

Let Us Pray: One-Year Anniversary of the Fall of Roe

“Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.” – Psalm 150:1-2

Just a year ago, the United States of America was living under the egregiously wrong 1973 Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion. The Roe v. Wade ruling by our nation’s high Court is directly responsible for the butchering of over 63 million pre-born children in the womb through abortion.

However, praise be to God, the Roe decision no longer looms over our nation with authority anymore. Tomorrow marks the one-year anniversary of the fall of Roe. On June 24, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down a ruling in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, and it was in that decision that the Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

The historic and monumental pro-life victory of the fall of Roe resulted in the issue of abortion being returned to the states to be regulated. Due to Kentucky’s “trigger” abortion ban that went into effect at the moment Roe fell, our Commonwealth has experienced nearly a year of being free from the evil of abortion.

Let us take a moment to solemnly lift our eyes to heaven and praise God that the horrific and heinous act of abortion has been banned from our beloved state for a year now. Let us also praise God today for all the lives that have been saved this past year from abortion and that have been allowed to live because of the steadfast fight by so many to protect human life. May we be filled with encouragement to continue in our effort to do all that we can to cultivate a culture that truly honors, respects, and protects every human being.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You that as Americans we have now lived in a post-Roe nation for a year now. Lord, we praise You for all of the lives that have been saved from being terminated through abortion over the last year both in Kentucky and throughout the United States. Father, empower us to actively do all that we can to bring about a culture that reveres human life in every way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
