On April 13, Donna Durning was praying and witnessing outside Kentucky’s last abortion clinic, like she has done almost every day for 23 years.
But that afternoon, a young lady exiting the clinic allegedly grabbed the elderly Durning by both shoulders and shoved her to the ground.
Durning suffered a head injury and a broken leg, requiring surgery to reconstruct the femur and then several days of rehab.
The incident reportedly occurred as Durning approached the young lady and offered a little card with a number to call if the woman wanted to talk at some point in the future.
The young lady has been charged with assault in the second degree for “intentionally caus[ing] serious physical injury.” The Class C felony charge carries the possibility of 5-10 years in prison.
