The Family Foundation Statement on U.S. Supreme Court Decision in Moyle v. United States

LEXINGTON, KY – The Family Foundation released the following statement today in response to the U.S Supreme Court decision in Moyle v. United States.

Statement from David Walls, executive director of The Family Foundation:

“Today’s ruling in Moyle is certainly troubling, but it should also serve as a stark reminder that our work to protect unborn children in Kentucky did not end with Dobbs, nor was it complete when the General Assembly passed the Human Life Protection Act. Kentucky’s pro-life laws currently permit physicians to perform medical procedures to “prevent the death or substantial risk of death due to a physical condition, or to prevent the serious, permanent impairment of a life-sustaining organ of a pregnant woman.” At the same time, physicians must “make reasonable medical efforts under the circumstances to preserve both the life of the mother and the life of the unborn human being in a manner consistent with reasonable medical practice.” That law remains in place, and we will continue to follow the developments in this case and others like it closely as they proceed through the courts. Above all, The Family Foundation remains committed to protecting all those who are made in God’s image, both mother and unborn child.”
